Areas of Expertise & Clinical Interest
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of psychological practice, doctoral training, and specialist expertise in neurodevelopmental assessment and trauma-informed practice across the lifespan. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with children, young people, adults, families, and multidisciplinary teams across a range of acute and specialist services.
My work primarily focuses on:
Trauma & Injury Recovery: I specialise in supporting individuals through psychological and physical recovery following major trauma, adverse life events, and life-changing hospital admissions.
The Intersection of Identity: Through my work in both specialist acute services, Major Trauma and specialist health settings, as well as in CAMHS and Autism/ADHD assessment, I have developed a keen interest in how neurodivergence, culture, trauma, and adversity interact to influence wellbeing, identity, and relationships.
Culturally Informed Care: I have extensive experience adapting psychological frameworks for specific populations, including refugees and diverse communities.
Grounding & Co-Regulation: My Approach to Wellbeing
Working with me might feel different from other practitioners because I value the profound impact of natural, somatic regulation alongside traditional therapies.
When managing the emotional toll of trauma and adversity, I often feel inspired by the grounding nature of horses. On a biological level, horses possess a unique ability to aid in human emotional regulation. Because a horse's resting heart rate is significantly lower than ours, their autonomic nervous system naturally encourages our own to mirror it through a process called co-regulation.
Being in their presence slows down racing thoughts, lowers blood pressure, and stabilises emotional states. They act as a living mirror, demanding absolute presence and helping us manage and process complex emotions without a single word being spoken. This ethos of finding a steady, regulated centre is woven deeply into how I support others. These concepts are uniquely suited to supporting people who are neurodiverse or have experienced trauma and adversity.
Service Development & Consultation
In addition to individual therapy, I am highly skilled at supporting businesses, organisations, and systems to develop and improve their ways of working. Whether you are looking to build a positive psychological culture, become more neuroaffirmative, or implement trauma-informed practices, I provide the psychological expertise needed to help your organisation and teams feel truly supported.
My Mission: To provide psychologically informed, compassionate, and accessible support that recognises the unique strengths of each individual, system, and company, helping you achieve your personal therapeutic or wider organisational goals.
